FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
Quick answers to the questions we hear most often from new members, sponsors, and prospective project leads.
How can I get involved?
Apply for one of our open positions under Recruitment and check our socials for positions! Our main recruitment occurs at the beginning of each Fall semester for our new projects, but we are always looking for talented people to join the team! Those who miss the fall recruitment can still join BioDesign as a general member who receives our newsletters and can join our general meetings. Additionally, our VPs are often looking for coordinators to help them with events throughout the semester, so stay tuned for coordinator recruitment postings!
Who can join?
We are looking for dedicated and motivated people with an interest in bioengineering, biotechnology and design. We accept students of all experience levels and from any faculty, even outside of Engineering! BioDesign values diversity, collaboration and the sharing of knowledge to elevate our team, projects, and events.
What kind of projects do you work on?
We use engineering and design principles to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems. We have worked on a wide variety of projects, from bacterial cellulose wound dressings to a water filtration backpack. Our projects vary from purely research-driven to for-profit startups who pursue the road of entrepreneurship. View our current and past projects on the Projects page.
