Outreach
Bringing biodesign to younger students.
In addition to working on design projects, McGill BioDesign provides bioengineering lab tours, holds workshops, and hosts social events to foster community. Outreach efforts are mainly targeted toward high school and CEGEP students, especially those interested in STEM programs and fields.
We hope that exposing younger students to actual student research and projects can encourage them to learn more about engineering and the diversity of research and careers it provides.

Les Filles et les Sciences
Two members of our club held a booth at the "Les Filles et les Sciences: un duo électrisant" event to inspire young women in high school to pursue careers in STEM and engineering. Our members presented microneedles and a microfluidic chip, sharing their experiences in bioengineering in the hopes of inspiring future engineers. More than 40 students and parents attended our booth.
It was also a great opportunity to meet professionals in the field and connect on future outreach activities in local high schools and CEGEPs. Thank you to Technoscience, École Polytechnique, and ÉTS for organizing such a successful event.

Caravan Visits
In-person events are back with Caravan Visits! McGill BioDesign visited Vanier, John Abbott, and Marianopolis this year. Students got the chance to learn more about the Department of Bioengineering at McGill, as well as the different projects that members of the design team are working on. Take a look at photos from the visits, and make sure to check back in the fall for more outreach events.
